Ann Vandersteel has accused the Department of Justice (DOJ) under the Biden administration of showing double standard when it comes to former President Donald Trump.
She made this statement on the June 13 episode of “Right Now with Ann Vandersteel” on Brighteon.TV. Florida congressional candidates Lavern Spicer and Rubin Young, who were the guests on that program, agreed with the host. Both also showed their displeasure toward the federal indictment against Trump.
“Trump [is] getting hit with that 37-count indictment. Thirty-one counts of willful retention of national defense information and six other counts, including conspiracy and false statements,” Vandersteel told Spicer and Young, both running under the Republican Party for congressional seats in Florida’s 22nd and 25th districts.
Spicer agreed with Vandersteel about Americans seeing a double standard in the justice system. According to her, the former president’s latest indictment is a politicized and baseless abuse of power.
“They are doing everything that they could do to keep him from running and keep him out of this race because we know he is the leader,” she said. “He is fighting for this country, and he is going to continue to fight. And what we must do is also stand up and support him.”
Vandersteel also mentioned how the Miami judge in Trump’s federal indictment hearing banned cameras, phones or electronic devices in the courtroom, a violation of the First Amendment that allows people to know what is happening to the former president. Again, Spicer described this as a double standard.
“So clearly, we’re seeing a double standard when it comes to Trump. Anything he says, anything he does, everything that’s in the public spotlight because they are using all of this to stop him once again. To do anything to handle him, to stop him from running because they know that he is going to get this country back on the right track. And they don’t want that. They want to go ahead and proceed with their communist agenda.”
Another double standard on the part of the DOJ is the lack of investigation on the crimes of President Joe Biden and his family. (Related: Political double standard: Trump raided by FBI over classified materials, but Biden’s DOJ failed to report he’s been caught with some, too.)
Young, a former Army soldier and the founder of Blacks Organizing Leadership Development, expounded on this double standard. He said Biden, former President Barack Obama and others should stand for the crimes they committed – including their 2020 coup that overthrew Trump during the elections that year.
Aside from the double standards, Young said Trump’s indictment shows a broken judicial system. The courts and Congress permitted the indictment of a former president based on the Presidential Records Act, something he said carries no criminal penalties or fines. The congressional candidate ultimately warned that the government is out of control and the American people need to act now if they want to change it.
Vandersteel told Young that Americans are seeing an unconstitutional lawyer system in the American Bar Association (ABA). She outlined the existence of a ruling class where judges must be lawyers in order to become part of the system.
Young agreed, pointing out that the ABA is not an entity in America. He added that judges are supposed to enforce and respect the law, not make it.
