A Pentagon advisor has been exposed for allegedly conspiring with retired military leaders to undermine the incoming Trump administration. Jamie Mannina, a former FBI special agent and self-described “spy hunter,” was caught on camera by an undercover journalist from James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group (OMG) boasting about his efforts to sabotage President-elect Donald Trump.
Mannina, who worked as a contractor for Booz Allen Hamilton, was swiftly fired after the footage went public, raising serious questions about the integrity of government contractors and the politicization of national security institutions.
The undercover sting, conducted in Washington, D.C., revealed Mannina’s shocking admissions about his role in coordinating with retired generals and ambassadors to “defeat Donald Trump.” Mannina, who previously worked for Hillary Clinton in the Senate and State Department, described himself as a “special advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff” and claimed to have ghostwritten over 100 anti-Trump op-eds for retired military leaders. His careless disclosures to the undercover journalist, who could have easily been a foreign operative, highlight a troubling lack of judgment and counterintelligence awareness among those entrusted with national security.
Mannina’s admissions paint a disturbing picture of a coordinated effort within the Pentagon to subvert the will of American voters. He revealed that he had been working with a nonprofit organization called National Security Leaders for America, which he described as a group of retired generals and ambassadors dedicated to warning the public about the “national security consequences of another Trump presidency.”
“I was literally working day and night, nonstop,” Mannina told the undercover journalist. “So ultimately, when he won, I was really sad, really depressed, not only in terms of mission failure but of course I was hoping to advance my career. Had [Kamala Harris] won, I would have gotten a pretty big job.”
Mannina’s comments suggest a blatant disregard for democratic norms, as he openly discussed his efforts to restrict Trump’s actions as president. He even disclosed details about a high-level meeting in the Pentagon’s secure “Tank” room, where he planned to present on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to top military leaders, including General CQ Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Perhaps the most alarming aspect of Mannina’s revelations is his apparent lack of awareness about the risks of sharing classified information with a stranger. “What if I were a Russian spy? What if we were Chinese spies?” O’Keefe remarked in an interview, highlighting the glaring counterintelligence failures within the Pentagon. Mannina’s willingness to divulge sensitive details about his work and his political agenda to an undercover journalist raises serious concerns about the vetting and oversight of government contractors.
Mannina’s career trajectory further underscores the politicization of national security institutions. After working for Hillary Clinton, he joined the FBI as a “spy hunter,” driven by his belief that Russia was responsible for Trump’s 2016 victory. He later transitioned to Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was embedded in the Pentagon as a contractor. His termination following the O’Keefe exposé is a small victory for accountability, but it also raises questions about how many others like him remain entrenched in the federal bureaucracy.
The revelations about Mannina’s activities are a wake-up call for Americans who value transparency and the rule of law. The fact that a government contractor felt emboldened to openly discuss his efforts to undermine an incoming administration is a damning indictment of the Deep State’s unchecked power. It also highlights the need for stricter oversight of contractors and a renewed commitment to nonpartisanship within national security agencies.
As James O’Keefe aptly noted, “Officials who specialize in counterintelligence are so horrible at counterintelligence.” Mannina’s careless admissions are a reminder of the dangers posed by partisan actors operating within the government. While his firing is a step in the right direction, it is only the beginning of what must be a broader effort to root out corruption and restore trust in America’s institutions.
