After lying about it, the United Nations (UN) was outed via leaked emails for sharing the names of Chinese dissidents with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Right before the activists were set to testify in Geneva against the CCP’s prolific human rights abuses, the UN decided to snitch on them, which the globalist body apparently considers to be “usual practice” based on the contents of the emails.
To this very day, a whistleblower told The Epoch Times, the UN is aiding and abetting the CCP in its crimes against humanity, even while publicly denying it.
After receiving the names of the dissidents from the UN, the CCP blocked all of them from leaving China. At least one of them, Cao Chunli, was detained by the CCP and later died.
According to UN whistleblower Emma Reilly, who first exposed the scandal, the CCP would frequently threaten, kidnap, and even torture the families of dissidents to keep them from embarrassing Beijing.
Many of the Chinese dissidents take issue with the CCP’s treatment of Tibet, Hong Kong, and minority Islamic Uyghurs, the latter of which are enslaved in concentration camps.
Early last year, Reilly herself was threatened by the CCP for her work in exposing it. While still employed by the UN, Reilly is under “investigation,” thanks to the CCP’s retaliation efforts.
Reilly says it is “criminal” what her employer is doing, even going so far as to accuse the UN of being “complicit in genocide.” Other human rights organizations around the world agree.
One of the more explosive emails to be uncovered was sent on Sept. 7, 2012, from a diplomat at the CCP’s Mission to the UN in Geneva requesting information about Chinese dissidents who were scheduled to testify at the UN Human Rights Council.
“Following the usual practice, could you kindly heip [sic] me to check whether the persons on the attached list are requesting the accreditation of the 21st session of the HRC?” the diplomat asked in the email.
“My delegation has some security concern [sic] on these persons.”
The UN official, whose name was redacted, responded with confirmation about two dissidents’ names, both of whom were accredited and planning to attend the meeting.
“As per your request, kindly be advised that Dolkun Isa and He Geng were accredited by the Nonviolent Radical party, Transnational and Transparty for the 21st session of the Human Rights Council,” the official responded, completely unconcerned about the safety of the dissidents and their families.
Isa is reportedly the president of the World Uyghur Congress, which advocates for the Uyghur Muslims who are being treated horribly in China’s Xinjiang region.
More than one million Uyghurs are believed to be housed in “reeducation” camps in Xinjiang, where they are brainwashed, abused, tortured, and even raped for rejecting the tenets of communism.
Isa also serves as vice president of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO), which acts as a voice for other disenfranchised people and groups around the world who lack representation from their nation-states.
After that email was sent, UN security attempted to remove Isa from the Human Rights Council chamber. Reilly was the only one who intervened on his behalf to prevent that from happening.
“This is a hideous practice, but if the UN is going to do it, at least they must make sure it’s public so people know the danger they are going to be put in,” Reilly is quoted as saying.
“This is basic decency and basic standards of humanity – don’t secretly put these people in danger. Is that too much to ask?”
